20 years TROPACK Packmittel GmbH
Success by continuity in product development and corporate expansion – production multiplied – technical consulting and customised solutions greatly expanded

Continuity in product development, as well as in development and expansion of the company, is the basis for sustained success of TROPACK Packmittel GmbH, which has become firmly established as a leading specialist for development and production of drying agents on the domestic and international market. Since its founding at the Lahnau-Waldgirmes site in Central Hesse with only 8 employees in August 1991, the staff has been expanded to 55 persons, focussing on in-house production. On originally only 300 sqm for office, sales and storage, TROPACK now has five times that area at the same location.

Production multiplied

The drying agent method to protect goods from value loss due to corrosion in transport and storage has been at the focus from the first. While only merchandise was customised initially, in-house production started on three packaging machines after only a single year. Now, TROPACK are producing their drying agent bag pallet pursuant to DIN 55473 in different packaging types and according to the requirements of the consumers in Lahnau-Waldgirmes, entirely in-house on 18 packaging machines. The production volume has multiplied several times measured by the processed quantity of drying agent.

Technical customer consulting and custom solutions play an increasing role for TROPACK in addition to the standard programme. New industries and new products place new and additional requirements. A software developed in-house calculates the required amounts of drying agent. Under- or over-dosage is prevented, unnecessary costs are avoided and customer requirements are met. TROPACK-protected shipments are insurance-capable without limitations. Certification to ISO 9001-2008 is regularly renewed.

TROPACK well positioned in the 21st business year – global sales

In its 21st year, the success of TROPACK is still placed on a firm basis. We have weathered the economic crisis in 2008/2009 well; business has shown a satisfactory increase again as early as in 2010. In 2011, there are positive impulses as well. The truck fleet has been increased by four semi-trailers to a count of seven, to meet the increasing transportation demand. The new TROPACK plant is being built in Lahnau-Waldgirmes, close to the current headquarters, until 2012. With twice the floor space, it will remove bottlenecks and provide space for further development.
The business activities of TROPACK have become increasingly international. After its start in the German-speaking area and Benelux, our expansion reached the Eastern and Western neighbours as well as Scandinavia. At this time, TROPACK has representations in many countries and delivers its products to clients around the world.
