AEOF certificate for Tropack simplifies customs processing for suppliers as well

Certification by customs office confirms reliability and trustworthiness The business partners of Tropack Packmittel GmbH in Hessian Lahnau-Waldgirmes have been profiting greatly from the special reliability and trustworthiness since February 2011. After intense verification by the customs office, the company was now granted the DE AEOF 104006 certificate. This certification enables customers and suppliers of Tropack to make use of benefits and special provisions in customs processing of international goods deliveries. Tropack was certified for its outstanding quality management system pursuant to QMS DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 in 2009 already.

The world customs organisation created framework conditions for secure global trade with a view to increasing globalisation of delivery flows and the changed security situation in the supply chain. For this, quality and safety standards were determined to enable certification if complied with accordingly. The objective of this measure is facilitating customs processing to prevent supply backlogs. In 2010, Tropack requested certification pursuant to AEOF to support its business partners. This certification is the highest possible level and confirms compliance with the greatest requirements to safety and accuracy of the delivery and shipping processes of Tropack.

An AEOF "Authorized Economic Operator" has a special status. It is deemed particularly reliable and trustworthy, thus receiving benefits in the scope of customs processing. The status authorises to receiving reliefs for safety-relevant customs inspections and/or simplified procedures according to the customs provisions. Internationally, this certification is designated AEO, short for Authorized Economics Operator. The AEOF level contains both customs-related relief and supply chain safety.

With AEOF certification, a company can prove its reliability and trustworthiness while profiting from relief in the scope of customs processing. For business partners, the status AEOF "Authorized Economic Operator" is a clear sign for correct and reliable processing. For example, sanction list verifications can be performed automatically.

After thorough inspection of the processes at Tropack Packmittel GmbH – safety standards, person verification, visitor registration or other protective measures are examined – the customs office confirmed compliance with the standards by awarding AEOF certification DE AEOF 104006 on 15 February 2011. It is registered in the certification database of the European Commission and can be viewed on the EU homepage. AEOF certification by Tropack considerably accelerates the processes in connection with customs processing of international deliveries, which serves the goods flow. Tropack is now permitted to use the AEOF icon on its business documents.
