Desiccants and Sea Transport

Desiccant bags are used mainly in seaworthy packing. Seaworthy packing is usually wooden boxes, into which the packaged goods - sealed in aluminum barrier foil or polyethylene barrier foil - are inserted.

Trockenmittel und Sperrschichtfolien

Die Trockenmittelbeutel werden in Verbindung mit Sperrschichtfolien eingesetzt. Jede Sperrschichtfolie hat nur eine geringe Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit, daher muss bei der Berechnung die kontinuierlich eindringende Menge Feuchtigkeit berücksichtigt werden - siehe DIN 55474. The interior atmosphere in the packing must remain secured under 50% room Humidity in the long term, so that corrosion can be avoided.
