Damage due to corrosion and humidity can occur in a multitude of industrial products during transport and storage.

These include:

In order to protect these effectively and in an environmentally friendly way, desiccant bags - filled with highly active drying materials - are an excellent mean of protection.

Desiccant bags are chiefly used in maritime packaging, i.e. wooden crates, in which the packaged goods are laid - sealed in aluminum sandwich or polypropylene foils.

Every barrier foil has a low water vapor permeability, therefore the continuously permeating amount of humidity must be taken into consideration for any calculation - see DIN 55474. (Please request separately).

The following points must be taken into consideration for calculation:

• Climatic zones that are passed
• Duration of the transport
• Duration of the storage
• Water vapor permeability of the foil
• Surface of the packing in m² (all 6 sides)

The atmosphere inside the packaging must remain below 50% relative humidity in the long term in order to avoided corrosion.

VA version A
Low-Dust fleece bag made of highly tear-resistant fleece material, as of 8 units with a suspension belt. Range of application: for all export packaging purposes.

PA version B
Dust-tight paper bag made of sodium papers for conventional applications.

TA version B
Dust-tight Tyvek bag made of highly tear-resistant and low-particle special wrapping material. Range of application: Pharmaceuticals industry, electronics and packaging under particular loads.

The desiccant agent can be alumina and white or indicator gel for special cases and requirements. Indicator gel provides the advantage of an optical check on the degree of saturation changeing colour from blue (at approx. 15% relative humidity) to pink (at approx. 30% humidity). In order to check activity, however, the desiccant bags can also be equipped with an activity indicator (label or indicator solution on the front of the bag).
